Four awards of $250.00 were awarded to
four young women who attended a missions trip to the country of Ecuador. Below is a thank you letter from one of
them.
"Dear
Mr. and Mrs. Houle, My trip to Ecuador was an excellent experience, and it is something that
I will never forget. While we were in this third-world country we went to many schools, public parks, and an orphanage
to perform the mime skits we had been practicing for the last few months. We actually performed these skits nineteen
times in Ecuador. We had many opportunities
to pass out tracts and share the love of God with the people. Around twenty came to know Christ as their Savior.
Our team enjoyed visiting the Anzalones' (the missionary family there) church and home. We brought gifts of soccer balls,
shirts, hats, and other smaller things such as bouncy balls, slinkies, and toothbrushes and toothpaste for the Ecuadorian
children. Although these were small things they really enjoyed them and you would've thought that we had given them
something much more valuable. However, many of these children also realized that the love of God we carry with us is
something that you can't put a value to. The Ecuadorians are very friendly people and they were eager to listen
to what we had to tell them. This was a very rewarding trip, and I want to thank you for the donation you made to Ocean State Baptist
Church in my name for this trip. What happened in Ecuador wouldn't have been possible without your prayers and
financial support. Thank you very much."
This fund is privately managed by the family of Kimberly Ann Houle. No
funds are used for salaries, as all work is done voluntarily.
